TravelManagers Celebrate Continued Cruise GrowthWith TravelManagers’ total cruise sales increasing 15% for the first six months January to June this year and following a 22% growth in 2016, it was of little surprise that TravelManagers was awarded Cruiseco’s Top 5 in sales award for 2016 for the third consecutive year. TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager Michael Gazal views the Cruiseco win as a forerunner to this year’s performance, highlighting the significant contribution personal travel managers (PTMs) make to the cruise sector.“It’s a solid start to our 2017 cruise sales and a significant achievement for our PTMs to be recognized in winning Cruiseco’s top sales award three years running. It’s testament that their commitment to personal service and ability to tailor make each client enquiry to the right cruise product and really shows the strength of our PTM sales focus on the cruise market.”Earlier this year personal travel managers Luky Wilson, representative for Mount Eliza and Derek Harwood, representative for Forest Hill in Victoria and joined Debra Deane, representative for Port Macquarie in New South Wales, together with the national partnership office operations manager Pru Gallagher, celebrated TravelManagers award win at the Cruiseco awards dinner which culminated the 16th national conference held in Adelaide. The conference allowed a mix of scheduled business seminars with casual exhibition time allowing delegates to spend time with Cruiseco’s cruise partners, as well as key note speakers, panel discussions and interviews.Gallagher who participated in the entire three-day conference enjoyed the business sessions from Cruiseco’s products but it was the panel discussion on the growth of the Australian cruise market with Royal Caribbean’s’ Adam Goldstein, Miami’s President and COO and Gavin Smith, Senior Vice President International Sales, Marketing & Commercial Operations that inspired her the most.“Adam and Gavin really were fantastic speakers and their discussions around how the growth of cruising in our market has already surpassed what was envisaged was fascinating. They encouraged the need for the NSW government to get onboard as the berthing arrangements for ships coming into Sydney will soon reach maximum capacity.”The Western Australian PTMs took the opportunity to celebrate this year’s 15% sales growth during a recent get together. Top selling WA cruise specialist Carl Retschlag who himself is no stranger to cruise award nominations, having been a finalist in the Home Based/Mobile Agent of the Year category at CLIA’s Cruise Awards earlier this year, attributes his success, while admiring the Cruiseco Award, to the focus TravelManagers places on growing the cruise sector.“TravelManagers allows me to use my creativity to create new and interesting ways to offer exciting value for money cruise experiences to my clients and as a result I am achieving results I never thought possible.”Gazal is confident TravelManagers will continue to increase its cruising sales.“We know we have a winning formula and are proud that as a company we continue to take very positive steps to educate our PTMs and promote the value of cruising and developing strategies and techniques in converting cruise enquiries.”About TravelManagersTravel Managers operates in all Australian States and is a wholly owned subsidiary of House of Travel, Australasia’s largest independent travel company which has a forecast turnover of $1.5 billion for 2017.
