Road closed as emergency services tackle car fire

Top Road is shut after firefighters dealt with the blaze, between Rudyard and Biddulph Moor. Shortly before 9pm a Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are currently in attendance between Rudyard and Top Road, Biddulph Moor dealing with a car fire alongside our Fire service colleagues. “The road is closed at this present time whilst we deal.” Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a fire crew from Leek had been sent to the scene shortly after 7pm tonight (Thursday December 20). One crew from Leek was mobilised to the scene. “They confirmed the vehicle was well alight and used two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.” Fire crews have now left the scene.
