Premiers 2009 Holiday Message

first_imgThe following message is from Premier Darrell Dexter: Season’s Greetings. It is December already and Nova Scotians in every town and community are making final preparations to celebrate the upcoming holiday season with their family and friends. When it comes to the holidays, Nova Scotians know how to celebrate. We have always taken pride in decorating our homes, searching for the perfect gift, hosting parties and family gatherings, and donating to those less fortunate. I know this year will be no different. This has always been one of my favorite times of year because, it is when people are at their best, especially in this province. It seems like no matter where I go, or what I do during the month of December, I get to see first-hand the goodness and the spirit of Nova Scotians. Whether it is gathering toys and coats for people in need, collecting food for food banks across the province, or donating to the annual Christmas Daddies telethon, Nova Scotians make a special effort to look out for one another during the holiday season. It is one of the reasons I am so proud to be a Nova Scotian and the premier of this province. Over the holidays, I will be relaxing at home in Cole Harbour with my wife Kelly and our son Harris. I hope to get some reading in and some much needed rest. Over the next few weeks, enjoy the holidays and special time spent with loved ones. I wish you peace, joy and the comforts of the season. 30-last_img
