It was the fourth-straight year that both teams met in the College Football Playoff. Some fans might be longing for a different matchup next season, but there is a strong chance we’ll see another showdown between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide.In fact, Phil Steele believes Alabama and Clemson will meet for the national title again. The college football expert made this prediction in an interview on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 on Wednesday. Although Steele is predicting a rematch for the national championship, he believes the final result will be different. From AL.com:“I’m going with Alabama this year,” he said. “When I look at Alabama, I see their defense being stronger than last year with six starters back. They only lost five draft picks this year. That’s light for that side of the ball.”Having continuity on defense and Tua Tagovailoa leading the offense should create a winning formula in Tuscaloosa.Steele also thinks the embarrassing loss in January will motivate the Crimson Tide for this upcoming season.Rounding out the field of four, Steele sees Georgia returning to the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years, and Michigan crashing the party for the first time. He has the Wolverines landing their first win over Ohio State since before Urban Meyer was hired in the process.“When you look at Michigan, they’ve never gotten past Ohio State,” he said. “They’ve got five starters back on defense, so it’s going to be your typical nasty Michigan defense.”Shea Patterson and the offense will be “explosive” and getting Ohio State at home gets Jim Harbaugh in the Final Four, he said.“I’ve got Michigan favored in all their games,” he said. “I think Michigan can run the table and make the playoffs.”Which team do you think will win the national championship?[AL.com]last_img
