(Photo by Otto Greule Jr/Getty Images)Washington’s football program had a tough Saturday, as the Huskies were upset on the road by Cal, losing to the Bears, 12-10, in a game in which Jake Browning was benched.The team shared some tough news after the loss, too.Washington veteran wide receiver Chico McClatcher has left the team for personal reasons.McClatcher, a junior and former three-star recruit, had been dealing with some injuries in recent seasons and hadn’t been playing a ton.“Chico just needs a break from football. That’s basically what I can share,” Chris Petersen said after the loss. “We love Chico and we’ll get him back sooner or later. He’s just taking some time.”The Seattle Times reports that he is working through a personal issue:Washington wide receiver Chico McClatcher stepped away from the team earlier this week to work through personal issues, team sources told The Seattle Times.The junior from Federal Way did not travel with No. 15 Washington for Saturday’s game at California. It is unclear if or when he might return to the team.Washington fell to 6-3 on the season with a loss on Saturday.last_img
