first_imgPOSITION TITLE: Assistant VicePresident for Student Services/Dean of Students The Assistant Vice President for Student Services/Dean ofStudents will report directly to the Vice President for StudentServices and will provide strategies, vision, leadership, andsupervision for essential units within the Division of StudentServices.QUALIFICATIONS:A Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Student Development,Counseling, or a related field required, a doctorate degree ispreferredFour- Six years of progressively responsible student affairsmanagement experience in a college or university environmentDemonstrated ability to plan, direct, and evaluate a complexoperation, using manpower, time, funds, and other resources for theaccomplishment of long-term and short-term goals of theCollegePerformance Responsibilities:Develops, implements, and evaluates leadership, developmentopportunities, training, workshops, and promotional strategies toinvolve student organizations in activities and programsProvides leadership and direction in establishing a leadershipsummitProvides leadership and direction in establishing amotivational speaker seriesFormulates and enforces policies and procedures regardingstudent development within student organizationsPrepares reports and funding requestsCoordinates students’ participation with College events,community projects, and various functionsPlans, implements, and evaluates the New Student and TransferOrientation Program for the CollegeProvides support for programs, services, speakers, publication,travel, and other needs as requested by departments across theCollege in an effort to support and enhance the mission of theCollegeParticipates in divisional meetings and serves on CollegecommitteesInvestigates and adjudicates student conduct cases in a timelyand effective mannerDevelops and revises judicial proceduresTrains judicial board members regarding policies governingstudent conduct and judicial proceduresReviews law enforcement reports for cases involving studentsand takes appropriate actionMonitors student compliance with sanctions and conditionsmandated as a result of student conduct decisions andagreementProvides occupancy, outcomes, programming, and violationreports on a monthly basisProvides on-call consultation and/or response for emergencysituationsMaintains positive working relationships and opencommunications with facilities, auxiliary services, campussecurity, food services enrollment management, and other areas ofthe CollegeProvides creative direction and leadership in establishing aparent program.Other duties as assigned APPLICATION PROCESS:A letter of interest; resume; transcript(s); and the names,titles, telephone numbers, and three (3) professional referencesare required for applicants to be considered.
