Guidance includes assisting clients withbusiness planning, accounting, market research, sources of capital,human resource issues and other areas to increase businessviability.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation ofprograms designed to advise clients in business management.• Provides one-on-one counseling to assist clients with businessmanagement, fiscal management, and planning skills. Assist insolving contemporary marketing problems and issues.• Work with established businesses in addressing their changingbusiness management needs.• Develops a client database, establishes a reporting system, andgenerates narrative and statistical reports on the activities andprogress of clients.• Instruct and coach beginning enterprises whose knowledge of thebusiness arena may be in the early stages of development.• Assists the director with strategic plans designed to promote thegrowth of the program.• Assist companies to improve sales management processes or adviseon financial accounting and reporting procedures.• Facilitates seminars and assist in marketing the program throughspeaking to outside groups.• Performs other SBDC related duties as assigned by theDirector• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite• Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teachingexcellence, student success, innovation and creativity and serviceto the College• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of theCollegeThe duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the varioustypes of work that may be performed. The omission of specificstatements of duties does not exclude them from the position if thework is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.The job description does not constitute an employment agreementbetween the employer and employee and is subject to change by theemployer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the jobchange.Required Education, Experience, Certifications,Licensures• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college oruniversity• Six (6) years of experience in business managementcounseling/advising• Must be able to work effectively in a collaboration oriented anddiverse workplace• Must be flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiplepriorities• Must understand and be committed to the mission, vision andvalues of the Tarrant County College District and the goals of theSmall Business Administration SBDC programDesired Education, Experience, Certifications,Licensures• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited collegeor university and four (4) years of related experience in emphasisin business management counseling/advising• Direct work experience with small businesses• Knowledge of U.S. Small Business Administration assistanceprograms• Experience in establishing economic development, community andbusiness relationship• Verifiable proficiency in standard software programs, especiallybusiness accounting and spreadsheet applicationsKnowledge, Skills and Ability• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Experience with computerized systems• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentationsoftware• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsAccommodationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals withdisabilities to perform the essential duties andresponsibilities.Special Instructions SummaryThis is a grant-funded position.
