We know what we need to do – Paterson

first_imgCity head into the final eight fixtures just a single point out of the play-offs and he says the squad must be ready for the fight, starting at Oakwell, if they are to finish in top six come May.Speaking ahead of the Good Friday clash, Paterson told BCTV: “We’re not worrying about the opposition, we worry about ourselves and we have to be ready, we have to be 100 per cent.”We go there wanting to win the game. We know it will be tough: Barnsley aren’t a bad side at all and its not an easy place to go, it will be a tough game and they have good players as well.”City ran out 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture at Ashton Gate on the opening day of the campaign but Paterson expects a different type of game tomorrow.”It has no influence whatsoever. It was a long time ago, they have a new manager (José Morais) with new ideas, they have the same players but it will be a different game with a lot more riding on it this time,” he said as City prepare to welcome back a near full clean bill of health.Paterson added: “It’s important for the squad to have strength in depth. I believe the head coach has lots of options now and we have good players starting, on the bench and even those who are missing out. There is plenty of competition for places and you need that in the run-in.”WATCH: PATERSON AND JOHNSON DISCUSS BARNSLEY TESTlast_img read more
