Kirk insists the style of the play that the team employ is ever evolving and that they have been working hard on it during pre-season in order to compete in WSL 1.City Women face Yeovil this Saturday at the Stoke Gifford Stadium (5:30pm kick-off).The Vixens boss is pleased with the way his squad has reacted this week and he paid testament to his captain Millie Turner for lifting the spirits of the squad. He said: “Everyone including me was disappointed in the result at the weekend, but we have certainly taken positives from the performance in terms of what we are trying to do. It’s just a case that against the best team in England it didn’t work out how we would have liked.”“Our style of play is something we will continue to work on and adapt, the principle will always be the same but we will tweak aspects of it week on week depending on personnel available and the opposition we have.“In terms of lifting morale this week I have had to do very little, the squad were fairly down in recovery on Monday, but when we returned for our double session on Wednesday they were excellent in terms of attitude and work rate. That attitude has come from within, led by Millie, which is testament to her as she is still new to the role and learning the intricacies of it.”Bristol City Women achieved one of the highest average attendances during the Spring Series and Kirk paid tribute to the impact the fans have. The City Women boss commented: “I have said it time and again that I don’t think the fans appreciate how much they give the players a boost on match day.“They give them a lot of energy, especially when we hit those big crowd numbers and I hope we can continue that into the winter season, we can then hopefully give them something back in terms of performance.”Yeovil tickets are on sale now, buy here
